GAS: Buying Directly from Producers Benefits Everyone
Joint, solidarity purchasing groups, known in Italy as "Gruppi di Acquisto Solidale" (GAS), are growing in popularity. These groups aim to make consumers more aware of their product choices while creating a shorter, more transparent supply chain. Italy has seen a significant increase in these groups, reflecting a broader trend towards ethical consumption.
Among the customers of the Guerzoni company are various GAS groups. These groups empower consumers to make informed decisions by purchasing directly from producers. Recently, a GAS group visited Acetaia Guerzoni in Modena to learn more about their operations and products. Following the visit, as owner Lorenzo Guerzoni reported, the group placed their first order.
GAS groups offer a purchasing model that benefits consumers by bypassing long supply chains and prioritizing direct connections with producers. This approach not only supports local businesses but also ensures higher quality and fresher products for consumers.
